Hundreds of local, live jobs and training opportunities will be available at a one-day Job Fair being held in Rose Hill, Oxford.

The Job Fair is returning to Rose Hill Community Centre, for the second time! It’s being organised by award-winning social enterprise and employment charity, Aspire Oxford, in partnership with Oxford City Council, Jobcentre Plus and Renaissance Coaching. There is no need for jobseekers to book for the event, entry is free and refreshments will be provided on the day.

It repeats the five successful community job fairs held on the East Oxford estates since 2015. The last event in The Leys pulled in over 350 jobseekers and 30 employers.

This event is particularly exciting because it will also celebrate the launch of two new, Big Lottery funded projects – the Rose Hill Regeneration Project supporting and empowering local residents, and the Unlocking Potential Project supporting young people NEET to develop their employability through enterprise.

Paul Roberts, Chief Operating Officer from Aspire, said: “We’re very excited to bring the Job Fair back to Rose Hill because it will provide local residents with the opportunity to meet lots of employers and training providers with hundreds of live vacancies in Oxford, find out more about up and coming training courses and jobs in the local area, and get advice about how to prepare for employment – and it’s in a friendly, community location too.”

Cllr Bob Price, Leader of Oxford City Council, said: “Whether you’re looking for a first job, a new job or just wanting to see what is out there, Job Fairs are an excellent way for job seekers to come face-to-face with potential employers in an informal atmosphere to explore what each can offer the other. You don’t have to be unemployed to attend. You might already be working and looking for a different job, a career change, or new training opportunities.

On 23 March we have a large selection of well-known companies and organisations coming to Rose Hill. This will be an opportunity for employers to find ideal employees and jobseekers to take a step towards landing their next job.”

The full range of up to 34 exhibitors is still being confirmed but will include established employers such as Westgate Centre developers Land Securities, NHS Professionals, Oxford Bus Company and John Lewis, as well as a diverse range of large and small employers & training providers who want to recruit more people from the Oxford area into their workforce & training courses and have current live vacancies.

Aspire is also keen to encourage more Rose Hill residents who have been long-term unemployed, to get in touch and engage with Aspire to develop their work experience, job readiness and self-confidence, as part of the Big Lottery funded Regeneration project.
